Well… Here we go again! Off to the races in 2015. Then again maybe not… only 8 sold single family residences in the 95482 zip code? That does not seem like very may homes for the city of Ukiah and its surrounding area for a whole month. Compared to January of 2014 when 15 homes sold in the same time period that lack of belief seems to follow. Inventory of available homes has increased over last year and interest rates are lower than they have ever been so the resulting low sales figures are counter-intuitive. I know from personal interaction with prospective home buyers that the process of qualifying for a home loan is very difficult. Have lenders made it so difficult to obtain financing that Buyers are afraid to try? It’s possible but I don’t think that is the whole story. My industry needs to do a better job of informing the public (read homebuyers) of the opportunities to purchase a home in this market.
